Remember waaaaaaaay back when I had a poll and had you guys chose which sort of style post you wanted to see?? Well I'm going to do it again! If you weren't here when I did the posts it's okay I'll explain what it was all about. I would list styles and put them up on a poll. Whichever got the most votes would then appear on the blog! I would include actresses/actors, models, and everyone else that exuded that particular style. I had such fun when I did it years ago before and I thought why not bring it all back again for you guys. So are you ready to hear what the picks are?
- 1930's Men's Suits
- Women's Swimwear
- 1960's Women's Hairstyles
- Women's Coats
You can post your pick here or you can vote on my poll! I can't wait to hear what you all chose! The poll closes on August 5th at 11:59PM so please make sure to cast your vote!
Will you chose 1930's Men's Suits for Mr. Tyrone Power
or
Swimwear like what Ms. Esther Williams is wearing
or
Anna Karina and her perfect 60's Hair
or the graceful Ms. Mary Boland in a fur coat???

10 Things You Might Not Know About Me
Thanks to the ever awesome Millie for tagging me! If you haven't read her post yet, YOU NEED TO!! It is amazingly wowie kazam awesome and no I'm not exaggerating that!
1.) I think history is so fascinating! I love finding how things started and what the people were doing in the process of the event. It seems so interesting to me. I hope on my birthday to go to Philly and visit some of the historical places there.
2.) I don't really know if I have a style. I typically just wear a t-shirt and jeans but I really would like to change that. I want to evolve my style and make it more of a 60's look ala Audrey Hepburn, Jean Seberg, Anna Karina, Shirley Maclaine, and Edie Sedgwick. Those ladies had so much style and I would love to incorporate into my daily wear. Also I would steal their hairstyles!
3.) I'm the worst procrastinator in the world. I will say I'm going to do something and then either I forget or I just do it way overdue. I really need to work on being less of procrastinator... I mean I'm going to try... oh wait I was going to stop doing that!
4.) When I was a kid I was pretty much terrified of every "scary" movie out there. While my brothers, Mom, and Dad reveled in the thrill of excitement from the movies, I would usually hide under the covers in my bedroom with the lights on.
5.) I love every decade that has passed but my favorites are the 1930's, the 1960's, and the 1980's. I just love how every decade was different and unique to the times. I love the styles, the music, the movies, and the stars!! Everything about those times were so fascinating! I seriously wish I could back in time to visit and see what it was all like. (except I wouldn't care to see the racism and the sexism that occurred in the 1930's and the 1960's!)
6.) My favorite song of all time is Tenderness by General Public. That song is pure perfection! I pretty much could listen to it everyday of my life and never get bored with it.
7.) I don't know how to drive! I know most of you people will say that there is no excuse for an almost 24 year old to not know how to drive and I'd agree but I'm actually really scared of driving. I realize I have to get over my fear eventually and I'm actually making plans to study to get my permit. I can't allow a silly little fear to stop me from moving forward with my life.
8.) I really really really want to cut my hair short again. Now that its longer again, I just want it to be short. I just miss it so much. *tear*
9.) I was a cheerleader in elementary school for a whole MONTH! I actually really hated it and I hated how the Moms' got, so I just quit after a month. I also tried gymnastics and soccer and decided that I wasn't right for those either. Gymnastics was because I'm just not meant to be that flexible and soccer, I was 5 and I was more concerned with having crushes on the coaches than playing the actual game.
10.) I'm not a smoker or drinker and therefore I can be bit of a party pooper. I'm very against smoking and have told many people the risks that come with smoking but they don't care to listen to me. I had sips of drinks but never really liked them at all. I prefer Cranberry Lemonade or Birch Beer. I'd rather stay home and watch a movie or read a book than go out get plastered.

TV took my life away.... and they can have it!! I surrender!!!
I will be the first to admit to you and anyone else out there that I am crazy obsessed over certain tv shows. I'm not exaggerating this... I really mean it! Sometimes I can't sleep or work because I just can't wait to watch more!(Okay that might be a little of an exaggeration.. just a little!) Let me explain to you to what I mean by being crazy obsessed. Just a couple of months ago, I thought I'd give a particular show a try because I heard so much buzz about how good it was. Well it was good alright... and then I watched season after season after season until I finally caught up. Wanna know what show it was??? Mad Men! Funny enough, I had bought the first season a long time ago but never had any urgency to watch it until a couple of months ago. I love everything about that show! The drama! The characters! The storylines! The time period!(Hello!!!) I'm so happy I decided to finally give the show a chance because now I would definitely consider it as one of my favorite shows. I could go on and on and on about how much I love the show and how much I love Peggy and Pete but I don't want to tire you guys out with that show alone.
The other show that I have become crazy obsessed with is Parks and Recreation. Again I bought the first season a while ago but unlike Mad Men, I watched that one right away. I liked it but I didn't love it until I decided to watch the 2nd season and I was blown away by how much I truly loved it. It only took me a matter of a few months to catch up to the current season and I'm not embarrassed by how many episodes I've seen in a day. I'm actually proud of it.(Okay... I'll admit it, I've watched like 4.... no wait... 5 episodes.... no 6 episodes in a day!) Some of the characters in the show may be out there but they are relatable and they are hilariously funny! I've known people like Andy(who aren't the brightest bulbs!) and people like Ron(who always seem so uptight but are actually very lovable people!). My absolute favorite character from the show without a doubt in my mind is LESLIE KNOPE! I love everything that her character stands for and I love that she won't back down from her beliefs and convictions. But do you know what the best part of the show is????? Mr. Ben Wyatt!! Okay I lie... Leslie Knope is the best but coming in second(very close behind I might add!) is Ben. Ben is the quintessential nerd and I absolutely love it! He'll have forever long conversations about Star Trek or Game of Thrones(which neither show I've ever seen but I really do want to!) and you can just see the passion he has for what he's talking about. If I ever met a real Ben Wyatt, I'd probably just stare at them for a good 20 minutes without saying a word. I'd just be in awe of them. I can't help it.. I LOVE nerds or dorks... whatever you choose to call them. Okay so I know I said that Leslie was the best part of the show, but without Ben as her main squeeze, she'd only be 95% awesome. They go together like peanut butter and jelly! I love them more than... Nick and Jess from New Girl! I can't believe I said that but it's completely true!
Okay.. I know I know I know I've been rambling for quite a while now. I guess you can see the passion I have for these two shows now!
Until next time!

Rest in Peace Elliott Reid
Whenever I hear of the passing of an
actor or actress from the golden era of Hollywood, my heart breaks. I just now
found out about one of my favorite character actors passing away on June 21st
2013. His name was Elliott Reid and while many don't know of his name, he
always left an impression on me. I first saw the actor in the widely popular
film "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" with Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell.
He had a very James Stewart look to him, and his approach in acting was an
every man, which I found appealing because I felt that the audience could
relate to him more. I then saw him in a stellar film called "Vicki"
with Jeanne Crain, where he excelled in the role of Steve Christopher. It was
an excellent film noir and quite honestly one of my favorites. Just not that
long ago, I had a goal to try and watch as many movies of his as I could but I
don't think I got to far with that. I think I'm going to try my hand on that
again and do it in part of in remembrance of his memory and his superb talent.
Elliott Reid, you will be
greatly missed!
Must See Elliott Reid Films:
"The Thrill of It All"
"Move over Darling"
"The Absent Minded Professor"
"Inherit the Wind"
"Vicki"
"Gentleman Prefer Blondes"
"Young Ideas"
