Style Icon: Joel McCrea

Out of the actors that were chosen last week, just one could be picked and that lucky guy was Joel McCrea which was chosen by Juliette. Every movie of his that I've seen so far, I've liked. He has the endearing guy next door, I'll protect you type of personality in most of his movies and that's why I find him so likable and oh so stylish. I think out of all the films of his(that I've seen) I would have to say "The More the Merrier" was my favorite. Not only was he wonderful in the film but the entire cast was magical. If you haven't seen that movie yet, you ought to because it's a delight! Now onto the pictures of Mr.McCrea!

Seriously how much cuter could they get???

Tomorrow I will be posting the final dating game blog post, in which I will not only announce which bachelor will end up with Marsha Hunt but I will also be revealing who the bachelors are. So stay tuned for that, as for this, next week's Style Icon will be last. It'll be on hiatus for a while because I'm going to bring back my other series, "The Underdog Series", back onto the blog. The Underdog Series blog post will be on an extremely talented actress that I can't imagine anyone disliking- Jean Arthur. The choice for the Style Icons final post(for right now) is-

Child Stars(from the 1930's to the 1960's) -

Which will include-

Hayley Mills

Scotty Beckett

Ann E. Todd

Mickey Rooney

I hope you all are having a great week so far and stay tuned for The Dating Game blog post tomorrow! :)

Yay for Joel McCrea! (Rhyme intentional!)

I've never really been a big JMc person, but I saw one of his films today w/ Miriam Hopkins and I gotta admit, he's pretty nice. ;)

And of course, I vote for Hayley Mills and the Child Stars - what a fabulous name that would make for a rock group! ;)

Very nice! One of the things I like best about him is exactly what you said, the guy next door but also protector type. With those broad shoulders of his, he also wears suits extremely well. Mmmm. Thanks!

Hello! I ran across your blog and spied this Joel McCrea entry. I have been such a fan of his since I first saw "The More the Merrier" a few years back. What a revelation! Next I saw "Palm Beach Story" and "Sullivan's Travels" My gosh, how anyone could resist that man after those three movies is beyond me- so handsome and such charisma with his leading ladies (esp. Jean Arthur and Claudette Colbert.) I've been collecting his movies ever since. I've read some people say he was wooden, but I don't know what they're talking about! Thanks for finding the great pictures. I look forward to your Jean Arthur dedication- I love her equally. She is the featured star on TCM this coming Sunday!

The movie I like the most &have not seen since I was very
Young was Joel Mc Crea in a Great Mans Lady with the
Gutsiest broad in movies Miss Barbara Stanwyck. She
And Joel were most respected by cast and crew.
The crew of a movie loved to work with stars like this as
They were treated well by the stars. Miss Barbara
Stanwyck with affection was often called Missy.
I spent a childhood surrounded by so many stars on a Saturday afternoon at the movies. Jean Arthur whom I
Love was a difficult but great actress. I search old book
Stores & markets to find many old bios of stars gone but
Not forgotten. Always watching NIKKIxxxxxxxxx
