Ageless: Cary Grant

I've been wanting to start up a new series for some time, but I just couldn't think of what it could be. Then, it struck me that it would be so cool to see an actor or actress from their early days in Hollywood to the later years of their life through pictures.

I'm sure you all thought I was going to do Jeffrey Lynn first but unfortunately there are no pictures of him older on the internet(I have seen him older though!), so I went for someone who is more familiar to everyone- Cary Grant(also known as Archibald Alexander Leach). Cary Grant was born on January 18th 1904 in Horfield, Bristol, England and 82 years later, on November 29th 1986, Cary Grant passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage in Davenport, Iowa. With the pictures, you'll be able to see that he never lost his handsome look whatsoever, the older he got, the better looking he got for his age.

Great idea for a series! Cary Grant really did age well, better than anyone else in Hollywood, I think! I even think he got progressively more handsome from the 30's to the 50's!

He actually died two weeks after I was born. I always think that's so sad.

Hmm... how about Gary Cooper or Joel McCrea next?

So great! Cary was a perfect choice to start with!

I second Joel McCrea!

A great post, I love Cary Grant and he really did get more handsome as he grew older. I think he is sort of like wine in that way. ;)

I really like your choices for his best movies but I would also add Only Angels Have Wings and Holiday to the 30's group & Mr. Lucky to the 40's section.

Joel McCrea sounds good to me too! And I agree with Kim, Only Angels Have Wings definitely should be added to the 30's list.

Kate Gabrielle, that is sad. I feel the same way about Myrna Loy; she died six days after I was born.

A good first choice, I must say, & a genuinely charming character on & off set!

I remain, &c.

I think that Cary Grant did get better looking with age, not that he was ugly when he was young! I love a lot of his older films, especially Topper--one of his best roles.

I agree with Kate, Gary Cooper would be cool!
