Q+A with my Mom

A few weeks ago, I asked my Mom if it would be alright if I asked her to do a Q+A on old movies, without much hesitation, she agreed to do it. My Mom is my old movie buddy and every night, the two of us will watch a movie together. She is the only one in the house, that won't judge an old movie or the actors, and instead she sits back and enjoys the movie. So with no more delaying, here are my Mom's answers to my questions. Enjoy!


1.) Q- Which actor or actress would you like to see more of?
A- Paulette Goddard and Fred MacMurray


2.) Q- Which movie could you watch continuously?
A- The Thin Man(1934)


3.) Q- Who is your favorite screen couple(made more than one movie together)?
A- Myrna Loy and William Powell


4.) Q- Whose dancing do you like more - Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire?
A- Gene Kelly but it goes back and forth


5.) Q- Which is your favorite decade for movies?
A- 1930's


6.) Q- If you could back in time and meet any actor/actress, who would it be and what would you do?
A- Cary Grant and we'd just go out and have a good time.


7.) Q- Do you prefer to watch comedy or drama?
A- Comedy


8.) Q- Who is your favorite singer?
A- Elvis Presley


9.) Q- How long have you been watching old movies?
A- Since I was little.


10.) Q- Do you feel you've become a bigger fan of old movies?
A- Yes


11.) Q- Do you prefer seeing Myrna Loy in a dramatic role or in a comedic role?
A- Comedic


12.) Q- Do you prefer Cary Grant in the 1930's, 1940's, 1950's, or 1960's?
A- 1930's

A- It doesn't matter to me, as long as it's a good movie.

A- Myrna Loy

A- No

A- Westerns more

A- None

A- No

So why isn't your mom a 502er? She's awesome. My mom is awesome in her own way, but she isn't one for rewatching a movie. If she saw it when it first came out, in say the '50's she doesn't need to see it again. Needless to say I got my movie buff gene from my late father. He used to wake up the kids for a John Ford lateshow, school be damned!

Your mom has good taste -- anyone who likes Myrna Loy is all right by me -- but as a Carole Lombard fan, I notice your mom didn't mention her. Hope she doesn't dislike her.
