Gone too Soon: Helen Burgess

An actress with so much promise but with her life cut tragically short. She died at the tender age of 20 from lobar pneumonia. Helen Burgess was born on April 26th 1916 in Portland, Oregon, and 2 weeks before she was to turn 21, she died on April 7th 1937. Helen had made just four films including "The Plainsman"(1936) and "King and Gamblers"(1937).

I love the idea of that series!
I read about Helen Burgess's tragic fate when I had seen The Plainsman, really sad. Lovely pictures you've found!

It is so sad about Helen Burgess. I remember her well from The Plainsman.

It was that bad before penicillin that you could die from a cold(that became Pneumonia)!How far we've come.
