365 Movies: Chaplin Review

Chaplin stars Robert Downey Jr, Moira Kelly, Anthony Hopkins, and Geraldine Chaplin in this 1992 film. As you can guess, the film is about silent screen legend, Charlie Chaplin. Robert Downey Jr plays the role of Chaplin to utter perfection from his twenties to his eighties and he does it flawlessly. The last time, I saw this film, I was about 12 or 13 years old, and at that early age, I loved this film. Even after all this time, I still adore this film. I honestly didn't think, I would remember it so well, but it was such a memorable film to me. Chaplin lived a difficult and often criticized life, but this film puts it into a way, where you see Chaplin's view and you understand what he went through. You see his heartaches and pains, and his achievements and goals through this film. I loved watching Geraldine Chaplin, playing her own Grandmother, she nailed the role! We all know, though who this film belongs to, and without a doubt, it's Robert Downey Jr. He embodied Chaplin and did it, to perfection from start to finish. This is one of my absolute favorite new(well... 1992 isn't exactly new! Lol) films!

I love Chaplin as well! I wrote my thesis on him in college and I watched that film over and over again!

I need to see this movie. It looks so good and I've heard nothing but good reviews of it.
